Marching Band Year long course – Grades 9-10-11-12 Fulfills HS P.E. Requirement for Grades 9 and 10, Elective for Grades 11 and 12
This course is open to all interested students. This class performs a wide variety of music for school events. The band participates in all home football games and select away games. The group also performs in at least one parade and one halftime show per year. In addition to a large selection of music, students will learn basic marching steps and routines. These steps and routines will be practiced on a weekly basis. Students enrolled in the course are also encouraged to take orchestra, choir, wind ensemble or jazz ensemble.
Our marching band course is co-seated in the Wind Ensemble I & Wind Ensemble II periods. Students wishing to take Marching Band during the Wind Ensemble I class do not need to audition and will automatically be placed in that period, however students wishing to take Marching Band during the Wind Ensemble II class must fulfill the Wind Ensemble II audition requirements. Marching Band does not meet on its own during a school period; rehearsals take place after school.
Throughout the course of the year, Marching Band will have several after school rehearsals and performances.
