EXTRA CURRICULAR MUSIC OPTIONS:
Madrigals
Extra-Curricular Activity
This is an advanced A Cappella group. Students in this class meet 2 times a week at lunch time to sing traditional Madrigals. The group will often perform on AHS Concerts and sometimes perform in the community at various events. Students are selected for Madrigals based off previous voice experience, and they must be enrolled in a music class.
Jazz Combos
Extra-Curricular Activity
Semester-Long Schedule, Meets after school hours.
Highly Recommended for the development of Jazz soloing/arranging.
The AHS Jazz combos are open to students who are members of the music program. They are directed by Henry Beal. Students are grouped in combos based off their level of Wind/Jazz Ensemble along with Mr. Bloom & Mr. Hackett’s recommendations.
A Cappella aka AGOURAPELLA
Extra-Curricular Activity
AGOURAPELLA is currently an extra-curricular class open to all students enrolled in an Agoura High Music class or who have taken at least one year of AHS Wind Ensemble/Marching Band, Jazz Band, Choir or Orchestra. They perform pop music with only their voices in the style of groups such as the Pentatonix, King Singers, Glee, etc. Agourapella currently meets Tuesday during lunch and Thursday after school 6-7:30 pm. It does not conflict with elective/academic courses during periods 0-6. To register for this offering please fill out the AHS Choir registration form at http://bit.ly/agourasings and select “Mixed Choir I” in Aeries.
**Musical Theater: It is highly recommended that all students interested in musical theater take a “Triple Threat” track of classes: Choir I, Theater I, and Dance I for P.E. Credit. For more information on how to do this, please contact Mr. Bloom: cbloom@lvusd.org.
