Choir I


Choir I  (Entry Level, Highly Recommended for all Freshmen.)
Year-Long Course • Grades 9-10-11-12
Fulfills HS Visual/Perf. Arts or General Elective

This course is a choral class that teaches fundamental vocal technique and various musical styles. Along with classical repertoire, students in this class will perform select popular pieces, Broadway selections, and small-group a cappella arrangements. The choir studies and performs Unison, 2 Part, and SSA Vocal literature. The main objective of this group is performance (For school and community) which aims to develop student pose and self-esteem, as well as skill. Vocalization techniques, experience with various composers and styles, ear training and sight singing will be included in this class.

This class serves as a training ground for students entering the AHS Choir program as an Alto or Soprano voice.  Students from this course will often be promoted to Choir II during their Sophomore or Junior years.
